Ocular abrasion

This was a fiasco. Following the directions exactly resulted in every mirror and surface in the bathroom being splattered by various cleansers and solutions. After the buffing brush slung a wad of abrasion cream in my eye (causing squeals of agony) I decided to call it quits and start cleaning up the mess. I have a better idea: get some soap some facial scrub some toner and some spf moisturizer. Wash your face scrub it tone it and moisturize it. Not as good as a professional microderm treatment

I am still trying to figure this thing out. It comes with 4 packets of crystals but the machine seems to drain right through it pretty quickly. It is enough to cover your whole face but much seems wasted and goes right back into the machine and ends up in a larger container. I need to find a way to pry that larger container open and get the unused crystals out. It hurts when you do it even on a lower setting. My face turned pretty red. It does exfoliate but I think there are other products out there that are just as good and much cheaper. Like the Neutrogena At Home system. That one doesn't have the vacuum but I honestly don't feel like you need the suction to get the exfoliation. It exfoliates. That is what it does. Do not expect anything else.More detail ...

I have had this for a few years and it seems to work well. I have had no problems with the actual unit and the cremes that come with it do a very good job; in fact I used the exfoliating creme by itself for some time until it ran out and I am going to try and see if I can buy more. cream is awesome; pad is very disappointing

I had great results with this product with the first use. However when I used it the second time the triangular pad lost all of its abrasive surface leaving me with a smooth useless triangle. I replaced the triangle thinking I had a "dud" but had the same thing happen with the second pad. The cream will work without the pad but not as effectively. If the manufacturer can come up with a pad that has a more permanent surface they will have a winner with this product. On a positive note I love the facial product!More detail ...

Reduces Acne scars...when used for 4 weeks/once week.

This machine was an obvious investment at the price but I've always loved getting dermabrasion because it reduced my acne scaring. This machine helps to reduce and even eliminate the acne scaring. You are supposed to use one capsel (sp?) a week but since I don't use one up every week (you'll probably use half) I just use the rest up the next week. You only use it once a week or it is too drying which you can tell from the flakiness that happens in 4 days (but not so much as the peel). It also closes my pores. My skin is like a babies bottom. It's awesome and totally worth it. I haven't bought replacement capsels yet because i've only used it for 3 weeks...but I think I will wait another month before firing it up again. Don't run out! This stuff is awesome!

I just got this yesterday after seeing the other's reviews about it not being sold in stores and how great it was. I used it right away and the second I washed it off I could feel how soft and smooth my skin was! I want to use it every day but it says only 3 or 4 times a week for 2 weeks is equal to 1 microdermabrasion treatment. It was so easy to use also It only took me about 3 or 4 minutes scrub mildly with the applicator and product for 45 seconds on each cheek forehead and chin. (I also did the bridge of my nose and around my mouth) and rinse off. That's it! I was so happy with how soft my skin was and not dry and "scaly" in the brown areas.



My skin is dry with sun damage on my cheeks and the bridge of my nose. (brown spots) I swear they looked lighter after just one use! I am hooked and I'm going to make sure to order more if they're not selling it in stores any longer.More detail ...

wonderful product

I purchased the Pretika Sonic Dermabrasion brush about 4 weeks ago and it is a wonderful product! Originally wanted the clarisonic but the Pretika is a great alternative and very reasonable price. My skin is combination (oily tzone). I dont have sensitive skin so I use it daily on the lower setting as part of my regular skin care routine.. and once a week on stronger setting to exfoliate. My skin has never been smoother!! Its glowing and keeps the blackheads away from my nose! I absolutely love it! I use glytone skin care products and the brush definitely helps my skin better absorb them. Ive read alot of people who complain about the pretika brush dying on them after a short time... I believe that this will happen if u recharge the brush while its wet. Make sure the brush is completely dry before setting back to charge!! Especially the metal charging plates. I even go a step further and place a plastic ziploc bag over the charging cradle while i wash my face to make sure i dont splash water on it. If you take care of this brush it will take care of you!! delivers results AND feels good

I have had a very good experience with this system. I had some stubborn dry spots on my cheek bones that looked and felt 95% better after the first use of the brush. The next day my face still felt smooth and clean and I have felt great improvements ever since. I love how it feels and the gem cleanser that comes with it is very nice. It smells and feels great and they give you enough to last quite a while. The pore cleansing is a different experience with its suction action but it's neat and seems to work very well. I have much less blackheads on my nose than before and that's a huge accomplishment for me having tried everything else to get rid of them. The only complaint I have is the included direction booklet. It could be a lot more detailed.



A very good value for the money. I like that they offer replacement brushes and sponges for a reasonable price too. I also like that you don't have to use special brush heads to use the unit you can use whatever cleanser you want to use with the included brush and sponge.

Amazing product

I have passed this product in the shopping aisle many times and finally gave in and decided to try it. I am so glad I made the purchase. My skin feels and looks amazing. It's velvety soft and I can't stop feeling the difference. My regular facials have never made my skin feel this good. I'm starting to wonder about their training now.



At first I thought the price was too high but when I factor in the fact that I don't have to pay a babysitter to watch my toddler set a facial appointment and pay for gas to get to that appointment it's a savings in the long run. It is so worth it.



I will continue to recommend this product! Great job Neutrogena - you did your research!



BTW please remember that it's supposed to be a gentle scrub to your skin. I had to jump in and grab the device from my girlfriend who looked like she was scrubbing a greasy pot. Great product does what it says it will - but refills aren't available!

This is a great little product - Neutrogena took the vibrating rejuvenator unit that it used for its Microdermabrasion kit and added a velcro piece that allows you to attach the rejuvenator puffs. Instructions tell you to use it for 2-3 minutes per facial area - I use it for 5-6 minutes on my entire face just before jumping in the shower in the morning. It replaces my scrub a few times a week. So far I've noticed drastically smoother skin - and at 27 I am looking for something to really scrub away dead skin cells and maybe even out my skin a bit. This feels like it is doing both. The puff foams up with water and is definitely a bit scratchy. There is a pleasant smell when you are using it.



I had to take off two stars for the following: price. It's overpriced. The unit comes with batteries but you're still paying $35-39 for a low-tech electronic vibrating device and 12 puffs. Twelve. That will last you 3 or 4 weeks at the most.



The second star is lost by the puffs themselves. They can't be found anywhere. I've looked online and in the store. I'm yet to find them - so I am hoping I do so before I run out of the ones that came with the unit.



UPDATE 1/4/08 - refill puffs are now available on both Amazon and major retail stores. There was quite a delay there though so I know the early adopters were really sweating it out. Whew!More detail ...

I love this stuff...

Buy this product and you will feel like you had a facial seriously. I have used it twice and my skin felt ultra soft. This kit is easy to use simply rub the crystals on your face for about 1-2 minutes. The crystals are like a salt scrub. Then put the peel serum directly on top of the crystals and rub for about 1 minute (it will feel warm on your skin). Then rinse throughly with warm water. Less than 5 minutes and you are finished! The kit looks like you could use it 10-20 times before running out. Be careful not to get it near your nostrils and eyes. After using this kit my pores were less noticable and my skin wasn't red like most products will do. For $30 it isn't too expensive and you will actually save money by not going to a spa for a monthly facial. More detail ...
